It's been six years since the official designations of regional accreditation and national accreditation were discontinued. In that time, even leaders at the accreditors-formerly-known-as-regional have stopped using the term.

Now, the erstwhile regionals did band together to form their own "no girls allowed" club, called C-RAC, but even that organization has come out agreeing that the old terminology is outdated:...
